Thank you to Roy Safaris for planning and ensuring our four week trip to East Africa was absolutely fantastic. The wildlife was spectacular and certainly in abundance, and relaxing on the beach for a few days at the end of our trip topped the holiday off nicely. We had a very memorable time and it was a great way to celebrate a couple of milestones. Thank you for putting it all together for us.

Dear Roy Safari,
I would like to express my appreciation to you for a wonderful trek to the summit of Kilimanjaro, February 9-16, 2009. The trip exceeded all of our expectations. The ability to book a personalized trip as opposed to a larger group trip was a great help. The scheduling of the trek was a very easy process and Susan Wood's help in this regard was invaluable. The pre-trip information was very complete. I had a special request for a mobile cell phone for use while on Kili. The phone was ready for me the morning of our trek, fully charged and with sufficient minutes to last me while on Kili. All of this
took place on very short notice and I was very impressed by the personal service
that I received.
Our guide, Florent, did a wonderful job taking care of us. We obviously
spent a lot of time with Florent and he made the trip very enjoyable for us. He
is very knowledgeable about the mountain and its diverse climate and plants.
Florent made very good decisions with us on our climb. Suzie Vaughan hurt
her knee near the summit on the descent and Florent shortened our descent on
the summit day by guided us to a higher camp for our final night. This
enabled Suzie to rest her knee and made for a longer but much better final day on
the mountain.
Our cook, Benedict, did a marvelous job cooking for us. The food was
delicious. Our only regret was that we didn't have better appetites at the higher
elevations to enjoy all of the food that he prepared for us. There was also
a very good variety of food. It was nice to get to know some of our porters
although the language barrier made this somewhat difficult.
I must also tell you how impressed I was by the African Tulip Hotel. It is
truly the equal of any hotel in the world. The rooms and accommodations
left nothing to be desired and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
I have told several friends that they must visit Tanzania and the only
safari company to consider is Roy Safari. Your service is outstanding and your
staff and guides are excellent. The cost for our trek was very reasonable,
especially considering that we enjoyed such a personalized trip and with such
good service. Having Susan Wood as a United States contact person was also a
great advantage. For me, the only way to go in Tanzania is with Roy Safari!

Dear Nancy,
We had the most AMAZING trip, almost every place we stayed took our breath away. The highlights for me were seeing 100 elephants in the river at Tarangire, having lions roaring outside our tent at Swala (my favourite camp) and of course the gorillas. Our guide in Tanzania, Baraka, was fantastic, so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Zanzibar was fabulous too, the Asali suite a perfect end to our trip. I haven't got time to write much now but here are some photos. If you want photos of anything specific ask me I have 850! Thank you so much for the trip of a lifetime we have already recommended you to several people.

As I think about the past year, my family trip to Tanzania stands out as an unequaled adventure. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank your whole company for providing us with exactly the kind of experience we wanted. With your staff's help, we managed to go to all the sites we desired, without the crowding and long caravan lines that many travelers endure. No large groups. No caravans of vehicles waiting for a peek at some animal sighting. No problems with lodging, food, or staff.
The planning was helped by my frequent communications with Susan Wood in New Hampshire. She helped me to decide on the best route and timing, after I researched the various sites. This led to a final itinerary that was custom made, totally unlike a pre-packaged tour. I know she was very busy, and appreciated the time she took to address
my particular interests.
The greatest asset to our trip was the wonderful guide, Joshua. He was so comfortable to be with, so at ease with us, so open to our wishes, so flexible, we always felt it was OUR trip the whole time. Joshua knows his animals, trees, birds, and all. But also, he understands his passengers' level of knowledge about the environment. He respected our familiarity with wildlife, and added to it. We asked so many questions! We learned so much. Even long drives were filled with observations as we passed through the countryside. Yet he also performed the usual tasks very well- photo opportunities, great sightings, and so on. For example, we came hoping to see a couple of cheetahs if lucky, but we saw 26. We witnessed five separate hunts by lions and cheetahs, including a stand-off between the two species. And we saw not only the hyrax we wanted to find (easy at a rest stop), but the rock hyrax as well, in the wild. Our great guide never gave up on finding the two last animals on our wish list, the rhino and the leopard. At the end, he found rhinos in the crater, though the leopards refused to cooperate.
Please let Joshua know how much we enjoyed our time with him. So much excitement. So much laughter. So much learning, and respect for the lives of the people of Tanzania. He's a pro, and would make a great trainer of other guides!
I will refer friends to Roy for such a wonderful trip. And I'll always tell them to ask for Joshua!

My name is Steve, my family re; (Damon Waddington) and I have just returned to England after the experience of a lifetime.
Thanks to you all we have had a wonderful safari, Tarangire/Ngo crater / Serengeti, everything went like clockwork hotels fantastic food great, the Tanzanian people lovely, a wonderful country; we cannot thank you enough for everything.
I must say on behalf of all of us many many thanks go to "BARAKA" our driver/guide he is an asset to your company a really nice person, he helped with everything, his knowledge of the bush and wildlife was exceptional, always courteous, and willing to help with everything, we found a true friend in him.

I have been trying to find the words to express our recent safari trip to you, however I am now convinced those words do not exist. Please forgive my understatements.
This was, by far, the best vacation we have ever taken. I want to thank you for all your input and for your professionalism. Our itinerary worked out very well and I can't think of any way we could have improved on it without staying longer! You did a terrific job for us.
A huge 'Thank-You' to Roy Safaris. We had a wonderful time and I believe it was in part due to Salvatore. We just loved him. He was very knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful and his personality blended so well with ours. He taught us to love the animals and the people as much as he does. I am impressed with how much he loves his country and his job and how well he shares it with others. We actually missed him when we moved on to Zanzibar!
The coffee tour at Tengeru Coffee Plantation was so informative and Salvatore set it up so we could have lunch before the tour, which was wonderful. I was impressed with our guide during the plantation tour also.
The accommodations were quite lovely at each place we stayed, and I was especially fond of Kikoti Camp. The new manager seemed a little scattered, but the visit could not have been better. If you have not stayed there, you must really try it sometime!
The balloon ride was so exciting and more than I thought it could be. I have never been in a hot air balloon before and I cannot think of any other place that I would have liked to experience my first voyage.
The spice tour was much more than expected and included fruits and flowers. Our guide 'Teacher' was very informative and took the time to explain many things to us. We were surprised at the fruit we got to sample at the end of the tour.
Part of what impressed me so much was the promptness of each company or individual we encountered on this trip. There was not a hitch anywhere and that is due to you, Roy Safaris, Salvatore, and Island Express. I will not hesitate to recommend any of you to anyone.

I am writing to thank you for our safari experience in November of last year. My girlfriend Jenn and I enjoyed our journey through the northern park circuit immensely.
As a wildlife photographer making my first journey to Africa, I don’t believe I could have enjoyed many of the opportunities we had without the help of Roy Safaris and specifically our guide Habib, whom we believe to be the best guide in Tanzania (and who is one of the best wildlife guides we have ever had).

Jambo to all our friends in Arusha
Just a short note to thank you all for the wonderful reception that you gave us all on our arrival in Arusha and for the whole trip so carefully arranged by Nancy that have given all the family such happy and lasting memories of the time we spent with you.
There were so many surprises from the welcome Massai dance at Kili, the presents at your office, special cakes at Kambi and Breezes and the upgrade at Breezes. Wherever we went we were treated as VIP's as we feel you must have spread the word around of Babu and Bibi and family's arrival.
We would also like you to convey our special thanks to our drivers, Abdul and Ellie for their unfailing courtesy and ability to spot 'invisible' animals and be so informative whatever questions we asked them. Our driver was Abdul and we loved his super sense of humour - always laughing.
This is our second holiday with your company and I do not know if time and our ages will enable us to come to East Africa again but it would be nice to think that one day we may see so many kind and friendly faces, who we have come to regard as old friends, once more.

We were very impressed with Roy Safaris from the very beginning to the very end of our safari. Everything was very thorough and perfectly planned. The vehicle was well designed for its purpose and presented every morning clean inside and out with an ample supply of bottled water in the cool box. Our driver/guide (Nicholas) was excellent. Surely a tour company with a difference! Nancy made our holiday in Zanzibar at the Karafuu hotel a very personal one. All the arrangements for the hotel, our daughter’s marriage and the safari in Tanzania went perfectly. We couldn’t have wished for anything better. I just can't imagine how much planning went into this holiday making it hassle free for ourselves and providing a holiday of a lifetime.
